LA

Well this is a bit of a slow blogging start for me as this is already the end of my last day in LA after arriving on Tuesday. It took me a while to remember how this blog thing works with only my trusty iPad. But here we go.
My flight over was the emptiest
plane I have ever been on. There were empty rows everywhere. They made an announcement before the doors were closed to ask people to please not relocate to vacant seats until we were in the air as the plane had been trimmed for lift and take off based on booked seating. A bit spooky at the start but I had a whole row to myself so great for sleeping.
Jim was there to collect me and once Donna got home we took off for lunch at the local NY Deli, yes pastrami sandwiches! They say the place is owned by Afghanis and staffed by Mexicans but the menu still delivers. Driving there and back you could see lots of houses done up for Halloween.
On Tuesday night we walked down to Tonys on the Redondo Pier for dinner. This place has been a regular outing for JandD for many years and although they say it has changed, we had a lovely Meal and it was nice to walk down.
Wednesday morning was an early start at their Gym, a welcome outing for me after a big lunch and a big dinner the day before! Later in the day we went to San Pedro and toured the USS Iowa and then had lunch at one of the restaurants along the pier. The harbour had a few visiting seals and one climbed out of the water just below our window. Driving home we could see lots of kids leaving school in costumes. Tonight we feasted on left overs and Their favourite tv shows and although Donna had some bags of candy ready no trick or treaters came to our door. Tomorrow off to Spokane.
