So city 4
Today was Thursday and after getting home from my Millbrae wanderings I ended up going to lunch with Non and Gramps. It was their Wednesday lunch outing at Wendy's when they meet a small bunch of people in their same age bracket. they all order their own lunches but have a regular table that they gather at. They stay till 2.30 when LeRoys alarm on one of his 3 mobiles goes off. There is a story as to why LeRoy has 3 mobiles but they all say he is the only person they have ever met that has 3 mobiles.
Today everyone was there except the wife of one of the guys and it was great to see how much fun they had. There is Marilyn Garcia, Mitch damonti, Aldo DiTomassi and LeRoy, not sure what his name was but he was the time master because of all the phones, each one with a different coloured string on it. He got two calls during the lunch.
They talk about all kinds of things, including shared friends and their problems with illness or girlfriends or personality disorders. We got to hear Aldo's account about how his last girlfriend dumped him and that is why she is so miserable. (At this stage Mitch turned to me and said "are you sure your old enough to be listening to this conversation?) they are all as sharp as tacks and if and when they miss a beat or spill their food, they give each other heaps along the way, it is all about laughs.
One of the big laughs today was that 2.30 came and went and there was no alarm. When Dad mentioned this, everyone looked to LeRoy who realised that he had accidentally left that phone in the car. So he went out to the car and brought it back and reset it for 15 minutes later. Really and truly. And went it went off they all said, oh there's the alarm, I guess we have to go then, and off we all went.
Back at Miller and Orange I was on call for a Linda pick up. Our first job was to deliver a welcome basket to the Sheraton for the Speaker for the Professional Development day she has organised, who was arriving that night. With that done we went off to lindas friend Fran Penna's, who was hosting a jewellery party for her daughter. This gave me a chance to see lots of Linda's friends, especially Fran and Barbara (married to Eddie Bonnano) and her daughter Gina who is getting married next yeAr. Uncle Mike says Ed is getting crazier, he calls mike 3-4 times a day and uncle mike usually says to him, stop calling me, go sell some dog food. (Ed owns a pet supply business). Barbara says Eddie is ADD and the whole family is going for group counselling. I bet Ed just loves that!
